Auto shutdown in Linux

You can tell your Linux box to shut down at a certain time of day using and
customize one of the commands below:


shutdown 8:00 — Shutdown at 8:00
shutdown +13 — Shutdown after 13 minutes
shutdown -r now — Shutdown and restart
shutdown -k +2 — Display the “The system is going DOWN to
maintenance mode in 2 minutes!” message
shutdown -h now — Shutdown and halt
shutdown -c — Cancel ongoing shutdown comman
